Can you miss what you don’t have?
Can you drown in water if your head is still above?
Can you mourn what you haven’t lost?
Can you walk away from what you value the most?
Can you imagine what can never be?
Can you touch what you can’t see?
Can you hear the laughter and chuckle that isn’t there?
Can you feel the presence of the non existent everywhere?
Can you smell the fragrance that will not pervade your life?
Can you deal with the ever growing internal strife?
Can you envision the life ahead that will never be your reality?
Can you ever really accept your life and all its inherent abnormality?
Can you?
Can you catch time ?

No, never. Time is as elusive as a mirage. No wonder they say ‘time flies’. All we can do is utilise the time and make memories to hold on to. What do you say sir?

Time is the greatest paradox. We have all the time in the world. That is if we are completely in the moment. This moment, the now repeats itself eternally.
And time is our most precious possession. It is so little and so limited 😇
You are right. We can’t catch time. Never. Time is the stage or screen on which we play our dramas !! This role play gives us the illusion as if time is moving 😎
Let us play our roles well my dear and let the Stage Manager take over 😊

My god, I got goosebumps reading this…how well you have put it and how much sense it really makes. It’s definitely one of the best ways to describe time I have come across….thank you 🥰🥰

wonderfully thought provoking: each of these lines could open into a poem of its own; I particularly like, ‘can you mourn what you haven’t lost’?

Your poetry is beautiful 💕 I also think that this is a very interesting line of contemplation. I’ve heard stories of women who can never get pregnant, mourning the life of their baby that was never even concieved. I think we can mourn the unknown and the ‘could’ve beens’. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much Simone. Am so glad you could relate to this💓💓…and you’re absolutely right, we definitely regret and mourn the ‘could haves’..and wonder how life would have been different..what it would be like to be living the life we always envisioned for ourselves…🤔

Highly relatable… I feel you, friend. I often think about all this but at odd times like when I am eating , then my mom says… What are you thinking so much about… Just finish you food cuz it’s getting cold.. and while going to bed at night, I try to find an answer to them, but thinking makes me sleepy..IDK …but not always 😀
People say, if you think deeply you also get the track but this coin has two sides..either what we consider as deep thinking is not actually deep or may be every question doesn’t have an answer but many people to seem to get it depending upon their circumstances.

Haha…poor dear you, these pesky thoughts sneak up on you even when you’re eating and trying to sleep…well sometimes I like to indulge by thinking of the what ifs, other times I think it’s pointless.

Is it always a good space for you Pragalbha? 😀 Sometimes they bother me immensely, the not knowing how the what ifs could have panned out…even frustrating. other times I just indulge my imagination. 😛

Your post definitely put me in a good space because it took me to the energy of possibilities – questions that cannot be directly or logically answered but open me up to what is possible for me and what is possible in the Universe. I don’t need to know exactly, just be reminded that there are possibilities I can’t think of yet and I am open to them 🙂

Wow…that’s so no beautifully put…I think this is one of the best possible answers to all these questions and thoughts….I certainly will remember this next time I am thinking and can’t fathom a definite answer. Thank you so much for sharing this perspective Pragalbha 💗💗

As for the rest, I think only a poet can – which is why you could 😊 But can even a poet handle the ever growing internal strife?

I just vented here of all the things my mind thinks of, the many questions, the many thoughts, to which there are no clear answers…hence I ask all you wise, thoughtful people. 😊😊

Good questions that I have asked myself many times too. I can mourn those I have not lost because I know a time will come when loved ones are not with me and I am all alone. I cry each time I think of this. My way of coping so that when the time comes, I hope to celebrate their lives and not mourn them.

Interesting take. But Can you ever really prepare yourself for any future loss of a loved one like that? I think no matter how much you prepare for it, when that ever happens, going to mourn and grieve no matter what 😐 isn’t it?🤔

I will only know when the time comes. Yes, I am sure there will be sadness but in essence if an aged family member is in a long drawn battle with death, I’d rather they die than suffer.
It is hard to explain but I have been steeling self to rationalise death as a journey everyone has to go through, including self who almost died post and during surgery.
I have accepted death. It has to happen. Living is part of dying and dying is part of living. I am unsure if this makes sense to you but grieving is an emotion of loss. But if I frame it that I don’t lose the loved ones as the loved ones will always live in our hearts, actions and daily living. Then I suppose I am at peace. Perhaps I will do a blog post on this to better explain. It sounds philosophical and to be zen about it but I can only say, this is and will be my coping mechanism in preparing for loss.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts in details. I do agree with you there…that even if we lose someone, they continue to live On in our hearts and thoughts. I guess that’s a very important way of achieving some peace about it.

Wow….do you also have such thoughts with no definite answers to them? Does it frustrate you too? It drives me crazy sometimes and I have to pull the brakes and calm my mind…how do you cope with such thoughts and feelings? Do tell 🥰🤗

Oh yeah…those thoughts can be pretty frustrating. How do I cope with such feelings and thoughts?🤔 Well, I let my subconscious deal with them. As much as I could find answers to some, some remain unanswerable. And like the quote you included…”Sleepless nights, endless thoughts”, those thoughts will keep showing up, they’ve got no end. So, I let my subconscious take the rein, while I deal with reality.

Very well said… and you’re so right, these damn thoughts are pretty endless. While you give the reins to your subconscious, I get frustrated and fall asleep..next day is a clean slate..until those thoughts come back again 😅😅
